About the potter

Predominantly Richard now produces functional ceramics, this allows him to fully express himself. Recently his interests lay with adding textures, cutting and manipulating forms while throwing. Multiple glazes are used, to further enhance by having contrasting internal and external spaces.

Introduced to ceramics while on GNVQ Art & Design, Richard wanted to become a graphic designer before discovering the squidgy stuff (clay), but that all changed once his inspirational lecturer Pete Bodenham gave him confidence to make his very first ceramic sculpture and then was hooked!

This is the outcome of that first ever play with clay!
